From Africa to the Arctic” is an inspiring exploration of the diversity of Canada reflected in film. We provide a behind the scenes look at the heart of African immigration in the Great Canadian North. Our film reveals the unusual adventure of adventure of Noel Vagba, a 29 year old African immigrant, who has recently moved to the Great Canadian North with his family. Little by little, we will discover his friendships and relationships with the members of the Iqaluit community. Between two poles, difficulties, surprises and challenges mesh together while Noel gets involved in a real-estate project on the Ivory Coast, his home country. As witnesses of the obstacles against which they face in the Great North, we understand the cultural, temperature and linguistic shock that accompanies their migration from the African continent to the Arctic. Carried away by the beauty of the grandiose landscapes of Nunavut, we will discover tender, courageous and inspiring characters who succeed in making their own place in a fast developing, increasingly cosmopolitan Iqaluit.
